In this program of interlaced poetry and music, Kate O’Neill offers poems about her ancestral home from her new book Harp in Hand: Poems of Ireland. The reading of each poem is followed by a musical interlude of traditional Irish music selected by O’Neill and performed by our local folk trio Anam Cara, featuring Julie Hawley on harp, Chris Knox on woodwinds, and Jimmie Killingsworth on bouzouki and banjo. The rich imagery of the poetry and the moody hum of airs, jigs, and reels promise to lift your mood and open new meditative paths.
