Chroma | Contrast Opening Reception: Paintings and Prints by Harold Joe Waldrum

About this event

203 Fine Art presents Chroma | Contrast, an exhibition of vibrant paintings and prints by Harold Joe Waldrum (1934-2003). New works by Tom Dixon will also be on display.
After an epiphanic abandonment of Abstract Expressionism, Harold Joe Waldrum began cultivating his own unique visual language. Waldrum’s Polaroid SX-70 photographs of adobe structures became the basis for a body of work that emphasizes form, color, and contrast, mostly within a square format. The contours of these forms seem to pulsate; the pieces themselves glow from the layering within. Yet they retain a solemnity which reflects the brilliant solitude of northern New Mexico.
The opening reception for Chroma | Contrast will take place on Saturday, September 19th from 5- 7 p.m. The exhibition will continue through November 21st. 203 Fine Art, 1335 Gusdorf Rd. Suite i. Taos, NM.
