LOCATION:203 Fine Art
DESCRIPTION:203 Fine Art presents Chroma | Contrast\, an exhibition of vibr
ant paintings and prints by Harold Joe Waldrum (1934-2003). New works by T
om Dixon will also be on display.\n\nAfter an epiphanic abandonment of Abs
tract Expressionism\, Harold Joe Waldrum began cultivating his own unique
visual language. Waldrum's Polaroid SX-70 photographs of adobe structures
became the basis for a body of work that emphasizes form\, color\, and con
trast\, mostly within a square format. The contours of these forms seem to
pulsate\; the pieces themselves glow from the layering within. Yet they r
etain a solemnity which reflects the brilliant solitude of northern New Me
xico.\n\nThe exhibition opens on September 19th and will continue through
 November 21st. 203 Fine Art\, 1335 Gusdorf Rd. Suite i. Taos\, NM.
