Discover how articulated masks and puppets can transform actors into unforgettable theatrical characters. Participants will explore character development, movement, simple articulated mechanisms, and collaborative design while examining examples from Tales of a Jaguar Magician.

This is an active development lab rather than a traditional class. Ideas generated during the session may move immediately into hands-on fabrication and continued development for masks, puppets, and performance elements intended for public prototype presentations planned for November or December.

Additional collaborative studio sessions may be scheduled at the project’s Dixon studio (weather permitting) or other locations, where participants can help build, refine, and test production elements for the evolving performance.

No previous theater or fabrication experience is necessary.
