About this event
Join The Paseo Project for an artist talk with September Artist-in-Residence Chris Knowlton, a Chicago-based transdisciplinary movement artist, scientist, dancemaker, and engineer working at the intersection of dance and emerging technology.
Knowlton will share his creative practice and the development of Extended Play, an augmented reality dance project combining live performance, motion capture, digital technology, and vinyl records. Inspired in part by NASA’s Voyager Golden Record, the project explores memory, nostalgia, queer futurism, and new ways of recording and experiencing dance.
Come meet the artist, learn about the technology behind the work, and get a preview of Extended Play ahead of its live performance at WildFlower Playhouse on September 18.
Presented by The Paseo Project in partnership with Hotel Willa. Free and open to the public.
