The California Honeydrops

“The California Honeydrops … evoke the greasy rumble of Booker T and the spiritual ecstasy of Sly and the Family Stone.” Rolling Stone

From Oakland subway origins, The California Honeydrops fuse retro-soul with improvisational fire. They’ve lit festivals like Byron Bay Bluesfest, Outside Lands, Monterey Jazz, and Lightning in a Bottle, and shared stages with B.B. King, Dr. John, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy, and Allen Toussaint. Led by Lech Wierzynski and Benjamin Malament, the lineup features standout players like Yanos Lustig, Lorenzo Loera, Beaumont Beaullieu, Miles Blackwell, with Tuttle, Cotter, and Lyons joining as needed. No two shows are the same—no set lists, pure live invention. Redwood Highway released Aug 8, 2025.
