The Land of My Ancestors: Songs and Stories from Ireland

About this event

After a recent ancestral pilgrimage to the west coast of Ireland, Te Martin will share songs and stories from the journey. Songs will be in both Irish and English. There will be opportunities to sing along ~ come as you are; all voices are welcome and encouraged!

Te (they/them) was born on Ramaytush Ohlone land in San Francisco and has been shaped by the Pacific Ocean, Coast Redwoods, circus arts, and theater games. They co-founded Mountain Song, a three-day community singing gathering at the Lama Foundation, co-organized Thrive Street Choir, a justice-based singing collective in the SF Bay Area, for six years, and is a member of the Wisdom Council for Abbey of the Arts, an Ireland-based online community. Te is a passionate student of their ancestral Irish bodhrán drum. Listen to their EP, Water & Bones, and check out their music video, “May This Body Be a Bridge.”
